ReplyDeleteOk, as anyone that's visited Thailand knows, scooter rentals are a dime a dozen. But Jakarta? No chance. I spent three years looking, and found nothing. But finally found Sewa rentals, and Helmi was a saviour. I travel to Jakarta couple times a month for work and Helmi drops the bike off at your hotel minutes after you arrive from the airport. Tell him when you're leaving for the airport, and he's there to collect the keys as you board the taxi. Try getting that kind of service in Thailand. Anyways, I promised him a plug since his rental service is aimed mostly at locals since there is zero connection between the tourist market and him at the moment. I wouldn't do it if he wasn't so eager to grow his small rental business and didn't offer the service (and the brand new scooters) to deserve it. So if you're looking to rent a scooter for a decent price (about 10 bucks US a day) then he's your one and only option pretty much. And the best. So you really can't go wrong. Trust me. Spend an hour searching for Jakarta motorbike rentals. You'll quickly realize this post is the one and only post ever that points you where to get a bike in Jakarta.
ReplyDeleteWhether you actually want to ride a bike in Jakarta traffic? Now that is a whole other story.
